Single Axis EPSON EZ Modules come available in Heavy or Medium configurations. The primary difference is that the rigidity and thus the payload capability is much more for the Heavy modules vs. the Medium version. The Heavy modules have a maximum payload of 80Kg where the Medium modules have a maximum payload of 40Kg. However, both have top speeds of up to 1500mm/sec. (Keep in mind also that the Medium EPSON EZ Modules have a smaller footprint as well which can prove beneficial when it comes to cell layout and floorspace.)
Single axis EPSON EZ Modules are connected directly to our RC420 or RC520 PC Based controllers using the same cabling as our E2 Series robots. Up to 12 axes can be run from one RC520 controller and up to 4 axes can be run from one RC420 compact controller. Regardless of which controller you choose you can rest assured that it will have enough power available to act as a workcell controller and thus control much more than only the modules.
EPSON EZ Modules are ideal for simple pick and place applications but they can also be used for many different jobs like sealant or glue laying applications, parts handling and even precision assembly tasks.

2 Axis EPSON EZ Modules come available in Heavy or Medium configurations. The primary difference is that the rigidity and thus the payload capability is much more for the Heavy modules vs. the Medium version. The Heavy modules have a maximum payload of 25Kg where the Medium modules have a maximum payload of 15Kg. However, both have top speeds of up to 1500mm/sec. (Keep in mind also that the Medium EPSON EZ modules have a smaller footprint as well which can prove beneficial when it comes to cell layout and floorspace.)
2 Axis EPSON EZ Modules also come in 2 different basic types. RG and RD. The difference is simple. RG type have the carriage for the Y Axis (2nd Axis) running along the side of the Y axis. This is for attaching payloads to the side of the Y Axis. RD type EPSON EZ Modules have the carriage for the Y Axis (2nd Axis) running on top of the Y Axis. This is to allow attaching of payloads to the top of the Y Axis.

3 Axis EPSON EZ Modules come available in Heavy configurations only at this time. However, medium configurations are coming soon. The primary difference between the Heavy and Medium configurations is that the rigidity and thus the payload capability is much more for the Heavy modules vs. the Medium version. The Heavy modules have a maximum payload of 15Kg where the Medium modules will have a smaller payload (yet to be finalized). The Heavy modules also have a top speed of 1500mm/sec. The Medium EPSON EZ modules have a smaller footprint as well which can prove beneficial when it comes to cell layout and floorspace.

4 Axis EPSON EZ Modules (RU Type) are available in a Heavy/Medium configuration. With a max speed of 1500 mm/sec the 4 axis EPSON EZ Modules are some of the fastest modules available in the market. The 4th axis rotational speed is 1428 deg/sec which provides more than enough orientation speed for even the most demanding of module based applications. These Heavy/Medium 4 axis modules also have a maximum payload of 10Kg which means they are an excellent choice for medium payload jobs.
